Peace-building Workshop Brings Community Together

PDev II undertook a workshop on conflict resolution in our community. In this workshop, Catholics, Protestants and Muslims came together. We realized that it’s possible to find solutions to our problems. During elections there is often trouble, with the workshop we learned we have the capacity to prevent conflicts, and also to engage with the population to work in developing peace, whether it be in the family, church or community. It really played positively in our hearts that we had contributed to the peace. It also contributed to this sense of solidarity in the city. A group of women including myself who attended the workshop organized a cultural evening with theatre and music to sensitize the population on the importance of peace. Everyone was dancing, the priest, the Muslim women ... everybody said it was the first time they had seen all the faiths together in one place sharing this type of experience. We all acknowledged they we are brothers and sisters together.
